I promised I would do a piece on the much loved label Neon Heartache.. but regretfully, no images of their latest collection as yet. However I can say, I had the pleasure of adorning a Neon Heartache ensemble....not quite sure what you would call it,,... but lets just say, many appreciators of fashion approached me to stroke the black bird....xoxo.

MERCEDES BENZ FASHION FESTIVAL: FINALLY XOXO.
The best news waffled its way into my ear yesterday.. and of course publicly declared today. The best news to even take me away from my extreme duties of commentary
The best news that could even take me away from lacquering my nails with smokey grey Yves Saint Laurent....xo
The best news that could even stop me from sipping my tea
The best news that momentarily stopped me from touching up my lippy!!!!!
And the best news is of course the announcement that Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival ( Brisbane ) has found a new home!... and I am so proud to hear that the MR BENNETT team will be feeding fashion to the fashionably hungry.. by way of a Marquee.. in Southbank. ( I can just so see the vision:.. big and grand marquee, set up in a very plush New York with an Aussie flavour environment...runway show!)
My gosh, finally it has happened! The Brisbane offering of Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival is finally measuring up to its sister cities of Sydney and Melbourne!!xo. ( even though we will have to still wait to witness the fashion offerings and etc...).
Last year.. I recalled a penned review from Madam me.. myself, Alexandra E... a review which spoke of the brutally honest truth on Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival....... this year.. I hope to do the opposite... for some inkling of a feeling,, I think I will achieve just that! My fashion conscious tells me that this year.. Mr Bennett and his team are out to do some serious fashion rubbing!!, out to impress and make Brisbane shine within the fashion stakes for that momentary week!xoxo.
So proud am I .. as a fashion commentator, identity, critic, stylist, brain... whatever you may know me or refer to me as......that this is finally happening..a bigger and better showcasing of Brisbane's finest fashion event.
Now all they need to do is set it up like a very exclusive showing where front second and third row seats are reserved for VIP's within the industry.. I'm talking about the editors of Glossies, the voices behind the fashion bloggers..., the iconic fashion identities of celebrities and muses. Hang name plaques over the seating and take a snap shot of it.. just to tease the curiosity of fashionista's who just might be curious enough to want to attend the event purely for a glimpse of the VIP's...???.
Create a real New York'ish flavour.... This will only be achieved if you see a fashion blogger seated front row at an A-list designer showing in Brisban'es Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival.. blogging madly away.. beaming the information world wide to fashion lovers INSTANTLY!! If the team at MR Bennett's head quarters are clever and on to it... this is the new marketing flavour tactic to push the sales.... hmmmm I think I am a very clever fashion brain...xoxo.
Terribly excited with this years event... I predict it to be the best one yet for the Bennett team!!!xoxo. I'm shouting this to my overseas fashion lovers..... keep an eye on this little independent one.

Lacquered, sheeny, shiny leggings from Black Milk Clothing.
In complete perfect timing............the whole leggings, tights wardrobe swap over is music to the ear of the creator of Black Milk Clothing!. Specialising in slick tight leggings.. Black Milk Clothing is shining in the moment of the arrival and survival of the leggings!!!xo.If you couldn't possibly imagine how creative a pair of leggings could reach to??? then you obviously haven't tapped into the leggings of Black Milk Clothing.
I am especially impressed with the oh so sheeny and shiny lacquered look of the leggings entitled "The Black Wet Look"... so divine that it looks almost lacquered onto the footforms of fashionistas!!xoxo.

Felix & Slink............who and what?????
A few weeks ago, I received an email , attached was an invitation to Madam Ae accompanied with a press release. The invitation reading... something along the lines of.. lauch party etc.. etc... Felix & Slink.
So.. who are and what is Felix & Slink?, and how did they get Kate Waterhouse ( Style Editor for Sydney.'s publication etc..and daughter of racing queen Gail Waterhouse) to be their Mc for their launch?.. hmmm. I don't know and well, it doesn't really matter to know. .except that it is indeed impressive.
Impressive because apparently Felix & Slink is controlled, and run by a group of young, savvy creatives...hoping to push it, and make it in the marketing communications sector... and according to their webby..... also try to make it in every other element which is associated with fashion, luxury and beauty????
Any way.. all I can say.. is AMBITIOUS indeed... filling the market for young adult marketing...hmmm, I can't help shaking the feeling that it's gossip girls culture like come Felix & Slink???? ( Gossip Girls.. that American.. television show???)
Anyway.. wish them luck, and good on them for giving it a go... ...
By the way.. the youngest is 18 year old Tom.. Co-Director/Co-founder ( there are five of them in Felix & Slink) of the company..... hmmm. impressive???xooox.

TRULY IN A WONDERFUL WONDERLAND : ALANNAH HILL AW/W 010
This is Autumn / Winter in the "Alannah Hill, Wonderland"! Just when I began to question the existence of Alannah Hill.. ( where in the world and heck has this lass been?.. haven't heard a pip squeak from her.. or maybe simply, her other creations up until now Aw/W 010 has did very little to keep her in fashion lime light???)Thankfully...... completely saved by the whole 'Alice and Wonderland'..... 3D.. movie!, yep the eery version with Mr Johnny Depp and Mrs H. Bonham C.....xo. I say saved.., because if it wasn't for the revival of this quirky eery redeveloped beloved child's tale.. we may not be in such awe with Alannah Hill's latest creative offerings.
My critic tongue declares............that............I................simply............love.............it!!! xoxo.The collection is a true steer away from the blacks, chains, sequins and gem embellishments. In keeping with her quirky and somewhat kooky signature creations.. ( floral, and girly colours), Alannah Hill has definitely reinvented herself this season.Bold enough to give the feminine a touch of huey pinks and purples... in deep tones of rose palettes.. all in keeping with the notion that it is after all still Autumn come Winter.xo.I wonder which rabbit hole Alannah Hill crawled into.. to come back out on the end to offer us such a 'feminine delight????'. LISA HO AW/W 010 - I declare.. 'gothic, vampire, morbidish'
Autumn/ Winter 2010.... truly channelling and continuing to embrace the 'gothic'.. 'vampire'.. morbid'ish craze....Lisa Ho....the 'usually' queen of femininity, this season has put aside her quiet inhibitions, sharpened her acute eye for detail.. and has drunk from the veins of something femininely disturbing.... ( ok, I'm over embellishing with the analogy.... .but truly keeping in theme).
My critic tongue would have to say.. although not entirely original....( designers such as Gail Reid, from the label Gail Sorronda.. had already learnt to use feathers and black palettes way before others launched Autumn/ Winter 2010)... it is thrilling to see and know that Lisa Ho is in keeping with what the young fashionably @ heart really want to see in their closest! xoxo. Lisa Ho, this season .. has injected spurts of 'blacks, plums greys and splatters of tangerine fused with golds........hmmmmm a dark palette indeed..................xo, and then topped off with feathers.... I love the sheer leggings... ( I refer to it as footless stockings... ). And in true "HO" style, a collection without a bit of romanticism femininity would just not be normal for Lisa HO... so with glee was I @ the little peachy, nudey MAXI feathered creation.. Ok, fashionistas' please listen carefully and seriously. The must have touch up for this Autumn /Winter period would have to be YSL La Laque Long Lasting stormy grey nail lacquer!!!, has everyone put that down in their 'must get, fashion list?'xo.
I recently invested in one and let me declare.. this oh so smokey colour palette is the perfect side serving addition to any fashion combination!.
If YSL is not suitable for your purse strings then.. if you must, settle for something very similar!!, but I'm warning you, the durability may not have longevity!!
Think, tights, blazer, statement neck piece, ankle booties, vintage lace neck scarf, seriously long mane.. topped off with GREY LACQUER!!!!.... Autumn/ Winter here you come.

TATO & MEMI - DESERT LILY Aw 010..........oh yes indeed.
I'm back......... back to the 'daily fashionable grind', where I sip my tea, slip on my flats ( giving my lovelies a break), slide on a free flowing smock.. and pen my critic view.Autumn 10.. is breezing its way through out fashion conscious minds. Fashion creatives all over are busily working to create pieces that are befittingly wearable and suitable for the Autumn breeze.. but also not exactly accomodating to the chilly evenings ( who cares.. just slip on a bolero or blazer!!)
I am penning my fashion tongue on a Sydney duo label popularly known as " Tato & Memi". The label and it's creations thoroughly intrigued me.. and so my busy bodyness requested for my fave pics of Tato & Memi to be forwarded to my "inbox". Inspiration for the current Tato & Memi Autumn 010 collection - Desert Lily, derives from the feeling of imagining the harsh bold and confronting climate of the desert. Think hot, burnt colours in palettes of ember along with combined prints... collaborating with a myriad of textures all suitable to the Wintery climates. Yes.. so take minute and pause..and think: Desert climate colour pallettes infused with the feeling of the Wintery winds.
The current collection, I absolutely adore... all too often fashion creatives think Autumn/ Winter is restricted only to the morbidly drab dead darks of the pallette. Tato & Memi have catered for the women who boldly injects colour into her Autumn wardrobe, she obviously puts colour ahead of comfort!xoxo. I love how each garment strongly suggests that the fashionista can have every option of transitioning herself into the Autumn climate. For now,.. if it's not chilly winds.. then team your latest Tato & Memi creation... without the leggings???? My verdict?..
