MIRROR MIRROR - PERSONABLE Vs BEAUTY (THE LAUNCH NIGHT)

Mirror Mirror agencies launched its 'personable' motto to the creative lovers of Brisbane last night. Its models depicting the notion that "personality" trumps over "looks"... not to say that the MM recruits were lacking in looks, but one could certainly see the difference from MM Models to that of a Ford ( U.S ) or Viviens ( Aus) breed of model ( I am not insinuating anything... do not make an assumption please....)

The Mirror Mirror agencies concept, is I guess no different to the debate of 'naturally full bodied women , over the slimmer versions'. Their concept instead, is beauty based on 'personality' ( So I guess, you could be as stunning as Miranda Kerr or Agyness Deyn, but unless you have the words 'Please & Thank - you in your vocabulary, then MM just might not recruit you... I wonder how they screen this process of selecting 'personable models?'... it must be a given talent of reading 'personality intuition' that Mr T.N has.... xx.)

Back to the event;
Guests were treated to a drama/ theatrical creative type dance display.... I found the experience to be 'different', 'unique', 'un-pretentious' and certainly not what one would expect to pay witness to at a fashion / modelling event. The MM playground was vibrant & youthful and the set up was 'large'.. they definately drew an impressive crowd of 'fashion appreciators'.... all in support of this one mans dream and concept.

The creative dance act......
When we think of a 'fashion event/ parade' we immediately think of something classy, upstream and well... NYC? or Sydney Rosemount type?... MM gave me the impression that they are far from any of that, and instead.. they are setting out to 're-shape' the modelling industry, by creating this niche, artsy, creative presentation infused with modelling..xx. (Creative make-up artistry & Lady Ga Ga inspired head pieces)

It's beautiful that Mr Tin N. has this vision to market modelling as personality and that he has created a reason for the young and unique to come out and embrace this 'modelling evolution'. As natural as the concept may sound, it truly also has its taboo thoughts and opinions.

Bravo to MM and its Director for bringing out the very YOUNG and FRESH ( young, because last night was brimming with young creative lovers ), I support those who are setting out to create 'impact and input' into the Australian fashion & beauty industry..... correction; in MMs case, Australian fashion and 'personality' industry xo. I would have to say, that Mr Tin N. is indeed ambitious and just loving the industry completely.

Overall, the experience was different & mixed, there were moments when it appeared to be a rehearsal of the event, but in actual fact, it was the event.... but I just lay this down to the fact that MM was once again being 'down to earth' and natural in all their conceptual ways.....xo

The evening was great! xo.

MIRROR MIRROR AGENCIES

Mirror Mirror Agencies is launching on the 22nd September 2010.

Mirror Mirror Agencies = A modelling agency which claims to 'change' the face of the modelling industry, but first, to change the "attitude of the industry, by servicing clients, by providing models that not only have the look, but are personable, down - to - earth and memorable" - Pr team of MM agencies.

Mirror Mirror Agencies is obviously confident in re-shaping the 'perception' of the 'beautifully wanted.. and that beauty is, like the age old saying; "skin deep".

Shall wait and see...................loving the idea of the theatrical showing at the launch....xo. Curious I am.... curious indeed....hmmm curiosity consumes me.

Madam Ae. readers; maybe I will keep you posted on this one?... xx.

EVER LAYNE - TREND TREND TREND

Ever Layne: The 'Ever Layne girl' is, according to the 'Ever Layne' team "outgoing and adventurous. She doesn't always play by the rules but is confident in her style, and embraces current trends".

Ever Layne is harnessed and nurtured by its creator, Sarah Turner Woolfrey. Thriving on the influences of a childhood captivated by the coastal elements of Australia infused with a love for creative elements in areas of arts, music and dance. Sarah Turner Woolfrey communicates her passion for her first love of arts, music and dance through the birth of Ever Layne.

Speaking with honesty, the team at Ever Layne admits that Ever Layne is 'heavily trend based, and strives for a wearable but modern aesthetic'. This direction is clearly working 'for' Ever Layne, with stockists based nationally xo.

In the mind of the designer: Sarah Turner Woolfrey, describes her style as being, "Fun. Fashion should tell a story. The same outfit on two seperate people can be completely different, so it's more than just the clothes. It's the attitude, the confidence, the way you project how it makes you feel that's' important, and if you're not having fun with it, it's not fashion". And I so second the 'style mantra' of Sarah Turner Woolfrey! xx.

This is one of my many 'style mantras' - I believe, that we as the fashion lover, create the personality of an outfit.. the creative gives it to us with an 'inspiration' but we tell the story xoxo.

This is Spring Summer 2010 for Ever Layne..... http://www.everlayne.com/
In stores September.........which my lovelies, is now!

To my Madam Ae. readers on the other side of the globe.... apologies, I understand you are in the Winter moment.... I'll mix it up a bit and bring you some A.W . soon xo.

TOM FORD - the rebirth

So there appears to be three big 'topics' of conversation which has to be had over cups of tea and wine; 1. Tom Ford's rebirth into the field of womenswear, 2.Victoria Beckhams New York Fashion Week debut showing and 3. Television Queen, Oprah Winfrey touching down to Australia in December ( Sorry had to throw this one in, because that's all I've been hearing all day! xo).

The creme de le creme of putting on a private fashion soiree, could only have been achieved by Mr Tom Ford, creative director, designer, visionary and much more. His ability to pull off a fashion event aimed with 'exclusivity' written all over it, has surpassed the entire meaning of the term 'exclusivity' in the land of fashion royalty. Exclusive indeed! ( no outside photographers, except for his in-house photographer, and only 100 exclusively invited guests)

With self commentary by the man himself, Mr Tom Ford narrated his own showing, introducing his very special models; women who epitomised the era of expensive taste and reflected the power of luxury ( Beyonce, Lauren Hutton and Julianne Moore just to name a few ) and simply, women who had inspired him.

In the mean time every fashionista will just have to wait till 2011 next year, when Mr Tom Ford will release pictures of his womenswear collection.. till then; such fashionable stirrings could only have been achieved in the land of luxury, the land of Mr Tom Ford.

The verdict: Mr Tom Ford has been welcomed back with open arms, nil criticism and an embrace of fashion ovations. Such a pity we weren't able to provide the same reception of open arms when Australia's own fashion creative, Mr Peter Morrissey rebirthed himself...... ( ooops, I really had to put that in ).

Welcome back Mr Tom Ford xoxo.

CHAIN OF THOUGHT

It's a lovely weekend, and I thought, why not!, why not post an image that will evoke the emotions of; 'Omg', 'what in the world', 'wow', 'don't really know what to think of it' or simply ' this is art at it's highest form' and 'oh how silly'.

The emotion evoking from me?.... "just looks odd, but extremely harsh and raw" xo.

ZIESEMER

Inspired by the rule 'quality over quantity'- Milly Ziesemer, gave birth to her loved and much caressed label; ZIESEMER. She believes that there is no room "to skint, and no corners to cut, in the production room", and that her label creates "well cut, and well made clothing that people want to wear".

I first set my sights on the Ziesemer label, when an unknown sent through some pics, and then directed me to the blog.. curiosity arose... then came an appreciation, then came... lets find out a bit more....

Ziesemer is one of those labels, that impress you with its creations from the beginning, yet you don't know exactly what to make of it?... but then it has a continuous presence in your memory.... and then you know.... yes you know... you know that there is something special...and it is something to watch for ( success.. in the making).

Milly Ziesemer
The next time I came across a Ziesemer creation, was at the YEDP ( Young Emerging Designers Party)... hands up and hands down!, Ziesemer left an evitable impression; with words slurring in ones mind; 'artistic, architectural and simply....'she's onto something' ( words slurring in my mind, when I think of Ziesemer).

Milly Ziesemer has big plans for her label.. in no particular order;
1. Grow creatively
2.Explore untouched avenues
3.Gain more stockists and press
4.Gain recognition as a renowned fashion forward women's label ( I second the terminology 'Fashion Forward', Ziesemer is inexplicably 'fashion forward' indeed!

Just what is in the mind of Milly Ziesemer?... I think; a very creative fashion talent, with an intelligent artistic vision, with a high level of EQ ( emotional quotient) married with an equal amount of IQ (intelligent quotient).

Citing 'Alexander Wang and Ellery' as masters of genius... Milly Ziesemer could possibly be bashful, because my dear, you could possibly be the next 'creative genius' in your time xoxo.

A FLEETING THOUGHT - mini fashion maestros

I just had a 'fleeting' thought. One of those random moments where an idea of thought pops into your mind and you think... 'yes, that would be a great!'.

Oh how I would love to see a 'Junior Project Runway' style television show, based on little fashion creatives, churning out fashion collections, from ages of 8 and 12 or less?....

Imagine all the little creative minds, milling about, busily designing and creating little fashion creations!!! xo. Bring on the next much younger generations of Alexander Wangs', Nicola Finettis' and Sass and Bide duo's. These mini fashion maestros exist!, yes they do!

If there are little chefs in the world, then I am sure there are the secret little Valentinos' sitting in their creative nursery's dreaming of the next fashion trend....xoxo.

MIMCO ; ONE FOR YOU , AND ONE FOR ME XOXO

Oh how I love it when the new season rolls around and our fashion taste buds are fed with such delectable fashion offerings! xxoxo. This Spring/ Summer Mimco has created a fashion menu rightfully fit for the fashion forward & fashion conscious Queen.

This season, Mimco will be reviving our need to be draped in accessories from head to toe.

This season, only Mimco could turn the 'eye wear' chain into something that is 'tres chic'.

The Mimco girl is consciously aware of her surroundings, she is also far too aware of those who are aware of her xo, hence, this seasons campaign " An unpredictable revolution" - " I see you... watching me" ( and yes, I do, I see you watching me from wherever you are).

I see you ... watching me; clad in my Mimco eye offerings

I see you... watching me; weaving effortlessly through the 'architecturally, maze like' landscape

I see you... watching me; every detail absorbed, from my dripping jewels, to that of my statement arm candy ( bag )

I see you... watching me; forming the assumption that I am of the upper echelon.. the modern Queen of the new revolution..... however I possibly could be, and yet I possibly could not be....?

I see you... watching me; because this season, I am from the MIMCO revolution

I see you... watching me; because you are ' predictable '

I see you... watching me; yes I do. xoxo.

My accessory prediction for this Summer?.... a beautiful 'sunglass' chain, not for convenience, but instead, because it will look S..t..y..l..i..s..h

BENJAMIN ULMER - VISUAL EXPRESSION

Just who is Mr Benjamin Ulmer?, with a portfolio extending to some of the worlds most famous and reputable fashion houses, Mr Benjamin Ulmer is undoubtedly a rare and unique creative identity.

Having worked for the great fashion house Ralph Lauren, and side by side as assistant to the former director of Bulgari, to establishing a unique concept store, combining all the 'loves' of the creative world, from fashion, interior design and home collections, Benjamin Ulmer has come a very long way to be standing where he is today, in his own 'big' creative world.

With a philosophy based on the element of 'discovery' - "I am always in search of something new and exciting, something as it has shown no other before", Mr Ulmer is righteously embracing the 'unfounded' elements that tweaks his creative talent.

These days, Mr Ulmer is the creative director of Luxury Fashion Consulting, a 'niche and cliche' service, answering to the needs of the fashion, beauty and lifestyle industries. From his base in Switzerland, Mr Ulmer has recognised the need to inject his vision into a market place under the category of 'luxury' ( elite, special, expensive... )

The impression I perceive, is that Mr Benjamin Ulmer oozes with style and taste, whether that taste be for expensive impression-ables, or merely a taste of appreciation for fashion and art. He is definately a gentleman whom is articulate through 'visual' expression and impression.

He describes his style as; "casual classic, with an edgy kick", I interpret this as, 'not conforming to the mainstream styles of fashion, but instead creating his own visual fashion aura'.

Mr Benjamin Ulmer is well educated in his knowledge about the Australian fashion industry, his love and appreciation for the creations from designer duos such as Sass & Bide, and single entity designers; Nicola Finetti & Lisa Ho, gives me the impression that he is not one bit in the least lacking in understanding about the Australian fashion culture.

Ladies and gentleman, this is a mere insight into the understanding of Mr Benjamin Ulmer xoxo, ladies and gentleman, welcome to the 'luxury' world of Mr Benjamin Ulmer; http://www.luxury-fashion-consulting.com/
