WHITE SANDS AUSTRALIA: from mocktails to cocktails........Summer day's to Summer night's

Although on this ( my ) side of the world our sunshine is hibernating, this post is for my friends in the hemisphere where the  Summer Sun is just beginning and shining.....; an all Australian swimwear label 'White Sands', one of my favourite must have swimmers for a dip in the water, or simply lounging by the pool.  The White Sands current collection is a mix of pastel violet with a hint of floral interaction.. and a bit of frill xx . I enjoy their softly distinct styles, nothing too edgy and harsh (which I love x).

Known for their high end girly femme glamour, with a hint of cheeky Aussie appeal ( :-) ), White Sands Swimwear is a staple piece in your Summer must haves.

Pack a little bit of White Sands with you  during your Summer nights and Summer days, from your mocktails to your cocktails :) xx

ALEX PERRY : Falling back in love with black

Something to view over the weekend....... Alex Perry's current couture and Autumn collection. Alex Perry is one of Australia's favourite couture designers, known as the go to designer for custom made and collection pieces with an 'Alex Perry' girl stigma.  His designs have always been to flatter and accentuate the 'lady' in every female.

I'm enjoying his current collection, a combination of structure with a feminine power to it, and  the choice of dominant colour palettes; black and red, colours which I believe create a bold and alluring statement.  I have always favoured a dress which falls below the knee.. ; proper, feminine and classic, as opposed to the 'little bow peep' frocks with hemlines way above the knee; cute and girlish... ( not me at all..). Alex Perry however, escapes this.. by incorporating lace into his 'bow peep' hemline frocks.. love the lace.

There was a time, when the fashion world was losing its' classic colour palettes, I'm relieved to see that this season... we seem to be falling 'back' in love with 'black'....*sigh  :)  Alex Perry is one Australian designer who is taking us 'back'.

Do I love Alex Perry designs?..... Indeed I do  xx

WITCHERY.... freelance femininity

Witchery Staff group photo for the annual 'White Shirt Campaign' in support of Ovarian Cancer
1st May, 2013.

Confession: To my international readers, one of my all time favourite Australian brands... is WITCHERY!  I cannot stop praising how much I love the concept of this label.  It may not be high end designer, nor is it niche boutique, but it definately portrays a unique Australian style.

I love the simplicity and clean lines in each of the designs. I liken it to that of a 'freelance femininity kind of style'... no fuss feeling, yet still stylishly kept and individual. The low key designs and textures, allow you to over accessorise or keep it to a bare minimum. I guess.... I love it, because a majority of the Witchery concept, gives you the freedom to put your own extension of style to it.

When I travel there is without fail at least two or more Witchery pieces packed with me. I absolutely love their Summer tops, their Winter throws, slip on dresses and their  current take on modern vintage accessories.

My latest Witchery must have, and I have... is the High Neck Halter Dress, a great little black dress that I've dressed up and and dressed down during Summer evenings xx

Téa Tran; from Brisbane to New York

If ever there is an organic personality, then Téa Tran fits like an absolute glove to this. Soft spoken, and completely calm, this Brisbane beauty carries a very angelic demeanour..in other words the complete opposite to "high maintenance", which is refreshing and can be quite rare to witness in such an industry.

Since packing her bags for the Big Apple to complete work commitments, the journey has been exciting, fast pace and never ending. Téa is fast creating a name for herself in the modelling industry, as an organic nature and dedicated work ethics has seen her front international campaigns for reputable brands such as Victoria Secrets, Nike and Nivea (Asia) to name just a few, and the opportunities continue with more exciting projects to announce.

Earlier this year, Téa was invited by the film academy to attend the prestigious Golden Globe Awards and the Oscars. Dressed in a stunning Roberto Cavalli gown for the Golden Globes, for the Oscars and at the stylish coveted Vanity Fair after party, she chose to wear Atelier Versace Couture.

Atelier Versace couture ( Oscars)

Although both designs are stunning couture pieces, I completely fell in love with the Roberto Cavalli design.

This Brisbane beauty emanates a true sense of Australian laid back style. When not draped in designer couture fashion, you can find her in her comfy's.. jeans, t-shirt and the Aussie flip flop :) ( Love it xx).

Téa currently divides her time between Brisbane, Houston and New York. She recently returned to Brisbane to take part in the Australian Ovarian Cancer campaign, and with the announcement of being appointed as one of the ambassador's for the September 2013 Ovarian Cancer campaign in th Unite States.

From her humble backyard beginnings in Brisbane, to the fast pace challenges of New York, Téa is silently going about her way on a continueing career high.

The Maharaj Polo Cup

I recently had the pleasure of attending a gala dinner at the Palazzo Versace Hotel (Australia, Gold Coast).  The event was under the Patronage of The Maharaj Raghav Singh Shivrati.

In keeping with such a prestigious black tie event, everything was decked up to almost a degree of perfection, from the opulent decor within the ball room down to the sumptious eight course degustation dinner. Organisers of the event made sure all guests were treated to a somewhat feeling of royal treatment.

The special guests on the evening ; His Highness the Maharaj Raghav Singh Shivrati and his wife, mingled amongst guests, not declining photo requests and polite conversations.

On a fashion note; the entire event saw a fusion of East meets West. A mix of sari's and gowns, black ties and nehru suits, diamonds and bindi's.  The ladies looked glamorous and depicted their individual style through either their cultural influence or simply their own independent take on style.

In particular, Her Highness wore a simple draping sari, yet she wore it in an effortless style, extremely rich in elegance. From afar and close; the fabric was rich in texture, a slow gradient of a fading pink hue.

In keeping with her style of simplicity, Her Highness kept the focus on her sari, and limited the need to wear overbearing jewels which are generally known in Indian costume.  I can only assume, she was also paying stylish ettiquette to her host country (Australia), understanding and adopting the laid back nature also. His Highness wore a traditional black Nehru suit and appeared very relaxed throughout the evening.

Overall, the event maintained its' royal decree and depicted not only its purpose of forging Australia's ties with India in a business and trade agenda, but also on a lighter note, it displayed a wonderful array of Eastern and Western style in an almost old world glamour.

Till the next fashion thought...
