Huxley School of Makeup

As it is my vision to see Madam AE be recognised as an easy, stylish and fuss free platform for fashion, beauty and creativity, the Madam AE concept continues to extend its' reach to a larger audience. Recognising that we have an audience from all parts of the world, from what started as a small blog where only I would pen my thoughts, has now expanded into a platform where Madam AE has the opportunity to collaborate with other like minded fashion, style and beauty enthusiasts from all corners of the globe.

Next week we welcome on board the Principal and Creator of one of Australia's fastest emerging Make Up School's in Australia; Huxley School of Makeup.

We are fortunate to have Michael on board to lend his beauty tips every month, to  speak on all things about lipsticks, blush, shadows and more

We look forward to watching the Huxley School of Makeup expand and enter into new projects and products.

To kick start the new collaboration with Huxley School of Makeup, one Madam AE reader will receive a style giveaway; complimentary enrolment into one of the Huxley School of Makeup courses.

In the mean time, continue reading and like us on facebook to take part in our style giveaway with Huxley School of Makeup

Madhurima Nigam : A personal note

This week, I would like to say a few words about my contribution to Madam AE, and a thank you to those who have extended a lovely welcome and positive response to this collaboration.

It was an introduction to Kim, that bonded us over a conversation and we found an immediate connect.

Kim's blog describes the person that she is..her creative instincts are well defined by her beautiful interpretations.

I enjoy fashion and it all started from what was just a passion and turned into a profession. Kim and I spoke about this collaboration and she requested me to join her, and here I am penning down my thoughts.

I hope that I create my own space with Kim, in the Madam AE. blog.

Enjoy reading

Me.

with my sister Louisa ( right )

Like that of the weather transitioning into the warmer Spring... so too was my appetite.  The craving for hearty soups during the Winter, was quickly overcome with the sudden taste for crustacean food.

This weekend, my sister ( Louisa ) and I gave our selves a polite food coma, by 'grazing' over much needed conversational food; seafood, followed by cheese boards, chocolate fountain marshmallow fondue and flour - less chocolate cake.

This weekend, I was entering into Tran-seasonal Food xx

Men's Style: Summer into Fall

Here in the U.S. we are transitioning into our cooler Fall weather. Albeit the dreaded task of pushing aside our Summer comforts and for some... awkwardly bringing out our Frumpy Fall.

The Tran - seasonal wardrobe overhaul, doesn't have to raise your stress levels, instead, think quick, practical and key pieces.

Here are a few of my hints for tran-seasonal changes:

Keep the denim in front.  A good pair of denim worn with a V-neck simple style shirt, with a light scarf and boots can be a trendy ensemble for the Fall.   The v-neck shirt elongates the torso and creates structure in your outfit.

The layered look is always in style and crucial during the fall when the temperatures fluctuate constantly.

Layering is a great way to utilise most of your items in your wardrobe. Mix and matching shirt's, sweater's and your old standby's. But keep in mind not to over- layer yourself, there is a difference between discreet layering and hobo style layering.

Mixing your Summer colors with your fall colors is a great way to re- conceive your wardrobe. Don't be afraid to layer your block colors and your textures.

I have always invested in a nice key tailored wool suit, when Fall arrives.  If tailored is not an option, opt for an alternative wool suit.  Invest in a suit which will allow for the versatility of using the blazer as a key piece separately.

The weather may be approaching dreariness, but your wardrobe doesn't have to suffer the drab.

Last Month: July in the U.S.A

Last month I was in the U.S.A.. trading the Winter Winds in Australia for the Sunny Summer on the other side of the world ( minus the Summer rain..).  It was a quick  trip, but one can never fly 15+hrs to the States and not sneak in some leisure :).  I also had a great time celebrating my birthday.

Travelling to the States during the hot season meant, everything 'light weight';  easy Summer tops, wrap skirts and summery dresses including the little black dress.

Here are a few snap shots during my time in the States xx

Travelling Ahead - By Madhurima Nigam

Travelling has always been a passion for me.. as a child when I would watch the locales in movies I always desired to witness those marvels.  Over the years I have been extremely lucky to have traveled to most of the exotic and historic landmarks of the world.

The one thing that I always do before I start packing is check the weather on the net and prepare to plan accordingly.

A few must haves while packing;

- Do not ignore the light shawl which can turn into a scarf to add fashion, and also be warm just in case the weather gets unpredictable and nippy.
- Bring along a good sporty cap, as no one likes the heat on the head, and it's always a blessing on a bad hair day.
- Don't forget comfortable shoes, preferably pumps or flats for daily wear as high heels may make you look taller and stylish,  but after a long days walk you might hate looking at the blisters.

So happy travelling... I'm off to pack my bags too.

Madhurima Nigam collaboration with Madam AE concept.

As the Madam AE concept continues to grow. What began as a simple blog where I could merge my passion for writing and penchant for fashion and style, naturally progressed into 'once in awhile' editorial style interviews, with some of the industries most creative personalities and profiles.

It has always been my vision to see the Madam AE blog, be a place to visit for quick hints and tips on fashion and style, including article style content for those long lunch days and Sunday morning reads.....

Madam AE blog has never been, and was never with the intention to be an upbeat fast fashion platform, instead it has always been a concept to reflect similar to that of an artist, designer or creative individual who has opened up their 'little notebook' for all to see and read.  Madam AE concept is classic, simple and with a distinct literary style by its' writer.

Fast forward; Madam AE blog is reaching an audience on an international front, and so it is only natural that collaborations are welcomed with those who share a unique and similar voice about everything which Madam AE encompasses.

We welcome as part of the Madam AE concept a new collaboration, with Madhurima Nigam.  Many would know her as fashion designer and wife to acclaimed Indian singer Sonu Nigam, and mother to son Nevaan.

As a fashion enthusiast and designer, Madhurima Nigam will be collaborating as an extension of an international fashion voice for Madam AE. As a seasoned traveller, accompanying Sonu Nigam on his tours and concerts, coupled with her love for creative style and experience as a designer, Madhurima will be lending her 'general point of view' with classic and on beat hints and tips about all things on fashion and style.

Look out for Madhurima's first fashion post on Madam AE this week;  'Travelling Ahead '

Tran-seasonal cross-over

When the season's enter the Tran-seasonal phase.. our style becomes almost confused, do we wear the jacket, the pant, the jean or the skirt?  It's the mix between the sun is shining, yet the wind is still blowing, or the winter is ever present, but the sun is seeping.

This season.. my style for the tran-seasonal cross over goes a little something like this.....Some key ingredients for the wandering wardrobe...  I love this Zagliani bag, bit of sheen to the style, but paired with a cool linen drop pant, mattes out the texture and tone.. and slip on a forest green pointed heel to divide the colour palette to introduce the sharp appeal xx.

Stylishly crossing over ...... :)
